The seeds for what would later become ProJoba International were
planted in the late 1980’s when a group of young, intelligent,
hardworking and entrepreneurial friends decided that one day they
would open a business together. The group headed their separate ways
into the business world but remained fast friends and never lost their
shared vision for the formation of their perfect business. One of
the members of that friendship circle was Dr. Corey Gold, President of
ProJoba International. Dr. Gold went on to gain his dental degree and
open private practice in California. During this time he was
introduced to the network marketing industry and was amazed by what he
learned. Understanding the concept and potential of the networking
industry, he dove in and soon became the number one distributor in the
company he was involved with. Dr. Gold’s talents, work ethic and
integrity soon became apparent to the owners of network marketing
companies and he went on to become the Vice-President of one, and then
the President of another, network marketing company. He later became
the President of a nutritional supplement manufacturing company.
The
friendship circle would reform again when in 2001, Dr. Gold received a
phone call from Frank Jaksch Jr., now the President and CEO of
ChromaDex, Inc. Under Frank’s leadership, ChromaDex had grown to
become the leading supplier of phytochemical reference standards,
consulting services, and screening products to the nutraceutical,
dietary supplement and functional food industries.
Frank Jaksch told Dr. Gold about the project his company had been
working on for the past three years. They had been working on
discovering the source of the weight loss properties associated with
the Jojoba plant. After considerable research, testing and developing
new formulation techniques, a patent for the making of a proprietary
Jojoba extract (Simmondsin) was filed.
ChromaDex, being research and testing venture, was not in the
business of marketing products and Frank discussed the possibilities
of creating a relationship with Dr. Gold to market the Jojoba extract
in various products. Immediately seeing the enormous potential of the
Jojoba extract to help people safely lose weight and improve overall
health, Dr. Gold began to form a team of experts to help set up
ProJoba International. He called upon the contacts and friendships he
had developed over the past decade in the medical, nutrition and
network marketing industries.
Dr. Gold left his position as President of a nutritional supplement
company and started to put together the pieces that would form ProJoba
International. To put together a remarkable and comprehensive product
line and to make the business a true international opportunity, the
company formed strategic alliances that stretched the globe. They
formed relationships with some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical
companies such as Allergon (a division of Pharmacia, Inc.), the
Nanjing Medical Group, Nanjing MeiRe Pharma Inc, Chromadex and other
respected scientific and manufacturing companies.
With the backing and support they needed to move forward, Dr. Gold
decided to market their line through network marketing. But the
company that they sought to build would be unlike most traditional
network marketing companies. They shunned away from traditional
multilevel practices that reward just a handful of top individuals
while bypassing the real source of their company’s success – the
average person who sold and promoted their products and opportunity.
ProJoba decided to make their products and opportunity geared
toward the people who did the daily work of building their businesses.
They decided to focus the company’s resources on providing tools for
the part-time builders to develop their own home-based business. While
other companies prohibit and limit the distributor’s ability to use
technology to build their businesses – ProJoba embraces these
technologies and allows our distributors to take full advantage of all
the methods available today to communicate the company’s products and
opportunity to the world.
The end result was the launch of ProJoba International -- a company
that combines life changing products with a highly successful,
realistic business opportunity. The three original elements
(Friendship, Scientific Discovery and Entrepreneurial Spirit) that
brought ProJoba to life will always be the focus of our company
