Opened Aromatic Coffee Systems in 1971 in Jacksonville, Florida and expanded the company throughout the US. I sold the company to ARA Services. My networking includes National Sales Director A.L. Williams, #1 money earner U.N.I., #3 with Gold Unlimited and now President/CEO of Dreamchievers.
I was born and raised in the great state of South Carolina. I was promoted to Eagle Scout at the young age of 13, making me the youngest Eagle Scout in South Carolina’s history at that time. During my teenage years and until this day my interests are cars, motorcycles and sports. I also enjoy tennis and truly wish that I could play golf. I participated in all sports in high school and received a football scholarship to the University of North Carolina. My love for my country led me to join the Air Force during the Viet-Nam conflict and I spent two years in Southeast Asia and a total of four years in the military. I am the proud father of three children and grandfather to one gorgeous baby girl who has Granddaddy wrapped tightly around her little finger. Pamper My Baby was founded by Stephanie McCannon as a subsidiary company to Nursing in Style. Pamper My Baby's goal was to provide stay at home mothers a reasonable way to shop for their babies and themselves, and to provide these stay at home moms job opportunities. As a stay at home mother of two active children; Chase, 3 and Sara-Grace, 1, Stephanie longed to put her experience, skills, and talents to work for other women.

In 1999, as a breastfeeding new mother, Stephanie found great need to start a company that designed and manufactured fashionable clothes for nursing moms. Like many great businesses, Nursing in Style started in the guest bedroom of her Arizona home. The business grew by word of mouth through the small Arizona town, and continues to grow today. After several suggestions from customers to sell the Nursing in Style items to family and friends they knew, Stephanie decided to fuel these dedicated stay at home moms with more than nursing wear. Soon Pamper My Baby was underway.

In addition to finding great products that are unique, Stephanie looked for other small companies, many mother owned, to partner with enabling a chain of sharing and support. As a wife of a military man, Stephanie saw first hand what it was like to be so mobile and that it was almost impossible to find a professional job, much less finish a degree. Driven to succeed she finished an independent study degree with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, Cum Laude from Washington State University in 1998.

In 1975, Bob and Sylvia Caldwell, owners of a small bedding plant business, developed a line of home fragrance products, their successful sachet envelopes, to fill the seasonal lulls that are evident to the plant market. Over the years, with the addition of products such as candles, potpourri, & room sprays, the Caldwells established Grace Management Group, a company that includes several retail-marketed fragrance brands.

In 1999, Grace Management began investigating the direct-selling industry in an effort to find new avenues for viable growth and to positively impact the end consumer. They started researching market trends and strengths. After a successful test phase starting August 2000 and using the home party plan, Grace Management pressed onward. Operating under the name WillowBrook at Home, the test market phase continued through the year of 2001.

As the testing continued, it became evident that the company wanted to set itself apart from other home party companies. The company strives to give consultants more than just items to sell, because they want to convey their vision of having "products with a purpose." Thus, Quiet Places was created.

The Regal Ware success story began in 1945 when James O. Reigle purchased the Kewaskum Aluminum Company. Reigle retooled the plant, which had been doing military work, to produce one quart and one-and-one-half quart stainless steel sauce pans. Armed with his two-pan product line, over 20 years of successful sales and management experience, and a powerful drive to succeed, Reigle built one of the largest and most respected names in the housewares industry.

Within the first ten years, Regal Ware grew to include a variety of rangetop cookware, coffeemakers and electric appliances. Phenomenal growth began with the establishment of sales offices throughout the United States and the acquisition of additional manufacturing facilities and their accompanying product lines.

During James D. Reigle’s reign as President, Regal Ware made several bold acquisitions that helped solidify its position as a world leader in housewares. In 1979 they acquired Saladmaster a direct selling subsidiary. This acquisition helped strengthen Regal Ware’s already impressive Direct Sales Division. In 1982 the company became a major force in the small appliance field through the addition of motor driven appliances to its electrics line. Regal Ware expanded its aluminum capabilities in 1984 with the purchase of Club Products Company.

In 1992 the Regal Swan joint venture added high quality porcelain-on-steel cookware to the extensive rangetop assortment and opened the door for the company to expanded marketing efforts in England and Europe.

Quality and value are the hallmarks of the Regal Ware product assortment. The company has focused on multi-layered stainless steel food preparation products with an emphasis on health and nutrition. Its diverse housewares line also includes a wide variety of water purifiers and water filtration systems for domestic as well as international markets. Regal Ware’s direct selling representatives pioneered in-home demonstration as the most efficient and personalized way to communicate the benefits of each product. The innovative Kitchen Nutrition direct sales marketing program supports a nationwide consultant network with sophisticated training and collateral sales materials.

Rena Ware grew at a rapid rate because of the values the Rena Ware Opportunity stood for and the overwhelming acceptance of our products by customers around the world. Honesty, integrity, hard work, persistence, determination, and pride were ingrained into the Rena Ware business plan that formed the essence of the Rena Ware spirit.

I've loved to garden ever since I was a little girl when I followed my mom around our garden in Franklin Village, Michigan. I remember her tending to bright red oriental poppies while I sat in the grass next to her anxiously waiting for an invitation to help. Many years later my own little girl, Alex, would toddle after me with her miniature garden trowel hoping for her chance to "play in the dirt" and feel the magic of the sun and the earth and the flowers.

A wonderful thing happened to our family three years ago. Alex was no longer a little girl, in fact, she was 11 years old and our son, Geoff, was 13. I had a growing garden design and catering business, Planters & Platters, in Littleton, Colorado. One beautiful spring day, I invited my clients and their friends over to look at some garden accents I wanted them to see. Four hours later after the last of many guests had left, my husband, Greg Ball, and I knew we had the beginnings of an exciting new business.

Greg and I first started The Furnished Garden in October 2001 as a web site with the idea that it would feature home and garden accents that would inspire others to make their surroundings more beautiful and interesting. I've always believed that you should celebrate your home with the ones you love so we quickly added beautiful items for entertaining as well. Soon it occurred to us that many people who enjoy our products might be interested in a family-friendly business that they could call their own. We started the home party division in May of 2002. It makes all the sense in the world - our sales consultants enjoy setting their own priorities and financial goals and our customers are thrilled to see our beautiful products in the comfort of the home, where they are intended to be used.

Whatever the reason for visiting us at The Furnished Garden - whether it's to shop for beautiful garden accents or a gift for a friend or, to find out about hosting a home party or, to look into becoming an Independent Furnished Garden Consultant - we are delighted that you are here!

Twenty-eight-year-old entrepreneur J.R. Watkins founds the J.R. Watkins Medical Company in Plainview, Minnesota, giving birth to one of America's first natural remedies companies where associates market directly to consumers

1869

Introduction of America's first money-back guarantee and the Trial-Mark™ bottle, which indicated how much of the product could be used and still returned for a full refund. Watkins Red Liniment, made from Asian camphor and red pepper extract, was the company's first product. It is still sold today.

1885

J.R. Watkins moves his company to Winona, Minnesota, a booming logging town on the banks of the Mississippi River. Pictured are the first factory and the first employees.

1895

Watkins enters the gourmet specialty food market with its introduction of vanilla extract, black pepper and cinnamon. While searching the world for high-quality, natural medicinal ingredients, Watkins extends the tradition to high-quality, natural food ingredients. These pepper tins from the early 1900s are popular collectibles.

1901

Publication of first Watkins Almanac, Home Doctor and Cookbook. At left is the colorful 1903 Almanac. A complete collection of Almanacs and Calendars are featured in the Watkins Museum in Winona, MN

1912

Architecturally significant administration building is completed at a cost of $1.2 million in 1912. The building includes Italian tile and marble, Tiffany-style glass, and other exquisite details. When looking straight up from the building's marble rotunda, visitors will see the free standing dome with 24-karat gold leaf.

Designed by noted Prairie School architect George Washington Maher, Watkins Administration Building is part of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' multi-media collection, Unified Vision.

1913

International expansion begins with branch office in Winnipeg, Canada; here a hearty Watkins Man from Winnipeg braves the cold to share his products in the late 1930s.

1915

J.R. Watkins Medical Company becomes the world's largest direct selling company. Pictured is a composite of the Watkins properties from across North America as presented on the cover of Watkins Timely Suggestions.

1920

Product line reaches 100 selections. One of the most colorful offerings is Egyptian Bouquet Talcum Powder.

1922

Herb tablets (vitamins) introduced; Watkins was well ahead of its time in realizing the benefits of vitamins. These “vitamins” supported the Watkins tradition of natural products, which continues today in the form of cutting-edge dietary supplements.

1928

Watkins receives Gold Medal honors at the Paris International Exposition for vanilla, black pepper, cinnamon and other ground spices; the award sealed the company's reputation for providing high-quality gourmet ingredients.

1940

Watkins counts 200 products and 10,000 sales associates. Pictured are three Watkins sales associates from the Midwest.

1942

Ninety percent of Watkins production capacity is dedicated to the WWII Allied effort. Products included Pure Dried Whole Eggs, Dessert Powder, Gelatin Desserts, Lemon Juice Powder, Orange Beverage Base Powder, Louse Powder, and Insecticide Powder for Body Crawling Insects. 1955

Watkins first major national advertising campaign captures the imagination of a new generation of consumers. The ads appeared in magazines such as Better Homes and Gardens, the Saturday Evening Post, Ebony, Ladies Home Journal, Reader's Digest, McCall's, and Look

1960

1978

Ownership of the 110-year-old industry leading and innovative company is transferred from the Watkins family to Minneapolis entrepreneur Irwin Jacobs and his family.

1990

Watkins men and women add more convenience to what they offer customers with the introduction of customer direct delivery; products go straight from the on-site manufacturing facility to the company's distribution center and then to the customer's home.

1997

Mark Jacobs named president; product line is refined and expanded, completing the journey from Liniment to Linimax and the return to home remedy/natural wellness products.

1999

Watkins counts over 350 products and 45,000 Watkins men and women in North America. Heart-healthy Grapeseed Oil is introduced and quickly becomes a favorite.

2003

Door to Door, the made for TV movie about Watkins Associate Bill Porter wins six Emmys, including best made for TV movie and best actor for William H. Macy. The real-life Bill Porter, who was born with cerebral palsy, has inspired countless people with his persistence, integrity, and commitment to results. With Door to Door, Bill Porter's story reaches millions of people all across North America.
